We discovered this establishment, that is becoming one of our fast favorites, while driving along one of our usual routes and decided to give them a try. Viareggio is a seaside city in Tuscany, Italy. The food that comes out of this restaurant would make that city proud!
We have eaten here at least 6 times in the past 3 months and each and every time the food has been so fresh and so delicious! We can taste the love.
This tiny restaurant delivers big, serving fine food at a gentle cost, When the bill comes, we smile because it is about half the price of a typical fine Italian experience.
Recently opened, the word must be spreading fast as it was hard to get a table on a Tuesday evening, so we strongly recommend reserving a table.
We love to sip on our wine and enjoy being treated special, The bread and butter comes and my mouth waters with anticipation. I get an old world feel with Mom and her Italian accent and Dad coming out at the end to make sure everything was satisfactory!
I aka as Plump order the Spaghetti Carbonara most often, I have a hard time ordering anything else, because for me it is perfection. A traditional flavor, translucent onions, crispy plentiful pancetta, egg yolks that have been magically incorporated in a subtle white wine sauce, the pasta is cooked as it should be firm not mushy.
Pleasingly Plump my friend and brother says ” the Insalata Caprese is simple but so fresh and delicious, the vine ripened tomatoes with fresh mozzarella and balsamic vinegar is a beautiful start. The Cioppino Al Viareggio was prepared perfectly, the assortment of clams, mussels, shrimps, scallops ,fish and calamari were tender and delicious in that light but flavorful tomato broth, I would also recommend the Saltimbocca Alla Romana which is Veal Scaloppine topped with prosiutto and Mozzarella.”
I have tried several salads and several desserts and everything is spot on, one of the finest cannoli’s ever!
